Game 1 – Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders

Game 1 Middle Tenessee State

Hey people, it is Labor Day Weekend so it is time for some football. So let’s kick off this season with a night game, well an evening game at least. With sunset at 8:11 it will be a night post game for sure. In previous years these night games have meant that the parking lot will not open until noon and then we have to setup. So we hope to have everything setup by 2 pm. As soon as we are ready we will raise the flags. Remember the lot is filled on a first come basis, so if you want to help setup we can use people to hold our spots starting as early as 10am while we manage traffic to get in to the lot right at noon.

Traditionally for the first game we have been serving burgers, dogs, and brats so why mess with that. In addition to the main course, and yes we will have CHEEZE BURGERS! we will also bring in Metzger’s German potato salad, pop and water. For those who have not joined us in the past here is how we run this tailgate. To make things easier for everyone the hosts bring in the gear along with the main course, water, and soda. What we ask from you is to help defer the costs with a $10 per person contribution AND a side dish &/or dessert to share that is appropriate with the size of your group. Please signup by 5pm Thursday so we can plan COSTCO-ing for the food and drinks!

Other tailgate notes:

  • We know there are various dietary restrictions and preferences so the grill can be available if you need to cook your own food.
  • We plan on having hamburgers and hotdogs for post game
  • We will have keg beer from Atwater Brewing Company at the tailgate again this week.   We plan to have Dirty Blonde but may have other varieties based on availability.  As in the past, it will be $10 per person.  Be sure to get a wristband.
  • Tailgate is BYOB other than the community items in the white cooler.  If you add to the community beer supply then you are welcome to take from it.
  • There are not any bottles in the booze stash for the start of the season so bring whatever you want.
  • Items listed are just suggestions – surprise us!
  • The cooking can start after we get setup around 2:00, let us know when you are hungry and we will get started!

Cash donations to help with supplies, parking passes and tailgate gear is always appreciated, but please do not consider this your only participation in the potluck.

Remember to signup early!

GO BLUE!
