Game 4 – Maryland Terrapins (Homecoming)

Another noon game this week people means a quick pregame meal. Rather than another week of burgers, let’s change it up a bit. It was suggested that we make turtle soup in honor of Maryland, but I think we will skip that theme. The tailgate last week was the first time we did sloppy joes since 2019. Thanks to all who participated in the “Sloppy Joe Cookoff” and shared their special recipe.

This week’s game plan is to have a variety of sausages along with peppers and onions. If you want to share in some of the main course please sign up along with what you will be bringing. That will make the variety even better. As always, sides and desserts are potluck so be sure to signup and bring something. It is a shared responsibility to fill the food tables.

We are hearing that the Fox Big Noon Kickoff might be in town this week. Last time they were here they built into the Blue Lot and caused some shifting of tailgates. We got lucky to get our normal spot last time. So be sure to look for the flags.

So, the plan for this week is to again have breakfast around 8-8:30 for those who come in early (be sure to sign up as we do not bring extras) and then start the main course sometime after 10. If we have company after the game we will continue to serve food until it is gone.

For those who were looking forward to the Italian Beef Tailgate, rest assured it will happen later this season for the MSU game. With low numbers of people at the first tailgates we decided to push it off for a bigger game.

So here is what you need to do this week

  1. Select your RSVP yes or no and the number in your party
  2. Select the number in your party paying into the contribution for the main course (if you are just stopping to say hello don’t sign up for this item)
  3. Select if you will be bringing in Sloppy Joes, or a side, or a dessert
  4. Add in any option you want for draft beer or other item

Let’s see if the weather forecast is as accurate as last week.
